2 Twentieth Sunday in Ordinary Time G Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to people of good will. We praise you, we bless you, we adore you, we glorify you, we give you thanks for your great glory. Lord God, heavenly King, O God, almighty Father. Lord Jesus Christ, Only Bego en Son, Lord God, Lamb of God, Son of the Father, you take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us; you take away the sins of the world, receive our prayer; you are seated at the right hand of the Father, have mercy on us. For you alone are the Holy One, you alone are the Lord, you alone are the Host High, Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit, in the glory of God the Father. Amen. R P O God, let all the na ons praise you! N C I believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible. I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Bego en Son of God, born of the Father before all ages. God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, bego en, not made, consubstan al with the Father; through him all things were made. For us men and for our salva on he came down from heaven, and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man. For our sake he was cruci ed under Pon us Pilate, he su ered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and Son, who with the Father and the Son is adored and glori ed, who has spoken through the prophets. I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. I confess on Bap sm for the forgiveness of sins and I look forward to the resurrec on of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen 2

3 Let us reach for our bible and individual read this weekend scriptures. Isaiah 56:1, 6 7 Psalm 67 Romans 11:13 15, Ma hew 15:21 28 The Lord brings foreigners into his house of prayer. O God, let all the na ons praise you! The call of God is irrevocable. Great is the faith of the Canaanite woman. August 16, 2020 God s grace in the world is boundless and always has been. Isaiah tells the Israelites that foreigners will be brought to God s holy mountain to worship, to pray, and to celebrate. Paul refers to himself as apostle to the Gen les, bringing news of God s mercy to all. Jesus heals the daughter of the Canaanite woman who persists in her pursuit of him. Let us listen to God s word and contemplate the boundaries we are called to break down. From the Desk of Fr. Ron Dear parishioners and friends, Each August een we remember the Assump on of the Blessed Virgin Mary into heaven. Where Mary has gone, we hope to follow. Our best a surest way is to emulate Mary's Yes to the Father s will. The following is Mary's can cle. From this day all genera ons will call me blessed: the Almighty has done great things for me, and holy is his Name. He has mercy on those who fear him in every genera on. He has shown the strength of his arm, he has sca ered the proud in their conceit. He has cast down the mighty from their thrones, and has li ed up the lowly. He has lled the hungry with good things, and the rich he has sent away empty. He has come to the help of his servant Israel for he remembered his promise of mercy, the promise he made to our fathers, to Abraham and his children forever. 3
